BE - BECOME
Plaster Anti-Casts 

The Be-Become series is an art-based research which was exploring ways that nature inheres in the body. The project was based in the perception that human body and nature operates like a circle, from birth and growth to decay and deterioration. The Be-Become anti casts series materialized this perception. In the making process I was starting to use my body to make anti-casts and in a later stage, I was attaching lichens and moss into the cracked areas. These cracked areas occurred because of the plaster’s nature, which creates fissures quickly while I detached the casts from the body parts.
